‘He’ll be extremely damaged’: Married At First Sight’s ‘ex-virgin’ Matthew Bennett, 29, will ‘suffer long-term emotional problems’ after sharing his first sexual experience on TV

Mild-mannered videographer Matthew was a 29-year-old virgin when he joined Married At First Sight.

He had sex for the first time on his ‘honeymoon’ with Lauren Huntriss – who was far more romantically experienced – but their relationship didn’t last.

‘I see the heartache and hurt that’s being caused by this supposed experiment,’ Dr. Philip told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday.

‘As a psychotherapist, I find the whole show ethically and morally inappropriate.’

Dr. Philip added that the ‘virgin’ storyline was particularly problematic, adding that she personally ‘feels terrible for Matthew’.

‘I think he’s going to be extremely hurt and damaged for a really long time, because of who they paired him with – and [the producers] know that,’ she added.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Channel Nine for comment.
